I Have No Words But I Did Have a Great Work Out

First and Foremost:

Juan Pablo:  I do not like you.  While I 100% respect that you do not propose when you are not absolutely certain (totally respect actually) you were NOT nice the last few weeks of the show.  And especially not last night on the final (I blame most of the After the Rose on Chris Harrison).   Part of relationships include conflict, and you my friend, are not suited for conflict.

End of Rant.

Well. . . before my evening was made frustrating by our dear friend JP, I enjoyed an AMAZING 60 minute 2/3 yoga class.  It was a brutal tough class that focused on twists which is exactly what my body needs after a somewhat indulgent weekend, am I right?

I came home to a hubby taking care of business in the kitchen

I finished off the evening with a Cheryl’s iced brownie that got nibbled up before I took a picture, but you guys know what a brownie looks like, yes?

This Morning

That delicious dinner must have fueled me well because even though I didn’t get to sleep until after Midnight, I felt GREAT during my workout this morning.

Workout of the Day:  3.65 miles on the treadmill doing this workout that I mentioned yesterday

I did switch up a few things (My treadmill only goes up to 12 for incline. . . so that was my peak. And my warm up was actually 1 minute @ 4.5, 3.5 minutes @ 4 and 2 minutes @ 6.0 because 4.5 was just too weird of a speed for my short legs) but overall LOVED this workout.  It flew by and I finished sweaty like I haven’t been in quite some time, while feeling like I wanted to do the whole thing again!

I did wrap up the work out with 35 bicep curls with 12 lb weights and 25 incline sit ups.  Just because, yo.

And that, my friends, is my story  :).  Cheers to being over the Monday/Daylight savings hump. . . hope you are all feeling rested and overall better than yesterday!

Question of the Morning: I used our DSLR again for pictures of our food last night. . . I want to focus more on photography now that the light is getting better.  Any camera/shooting recommendations from anyone?

A Surprisingly Productive Morning

Do you ever have those mornings where you wake up and you just KNOW it’s like 2 AM?  You’re still a bit exhausted, it’s dark outside, and you just know you have like 3 or 4 more hours of sleep?

And then you look at the clock and your alarm is about to go off?  Yup — that was me this morning.  And thanks to some restless pets, there was no going back to sleep, even though I planned to sleep in a bit this morning (I’m planning on trying out a new yoga studio tonight, check back later!)…

Thank goodness last night was pretty relaxed. . .

By the time I got home from work I was able to catch up with one of my BFF’s from home, walk the pup, do some yoga on my new obsession, NTC app, and prep then enjoy dinner.  All while making time to also spend the evening with my date, Juan Pablo.

Anyone else really sad about who went home last night?  I totally agree that this season has been a little harder than the past few I’ve watched to get into. . . but I REALLY liked her.  Whomp whomp Juan Pablo. . .

For my treat of the day 

I enjoyed one two new to me, Gluten free drop cookies from the Immaculate Baking company.  These are the jumbo cookies, and I’ve gotta say my single complaint is that they aren’t really jumbo. But tasty, absolutely :).

And the furballs were preparing for an early morning, so they got in their rest last night. . . I shoulda known.

Back to this morning

I knew more sleep was out of the question, so I decided to seize the day and just get moving.  I washed up real quickly, and then got my furball duties out of the way.  By the time Gus was fed and walked and August was taken care of, it was only 7 AM.

I decided to make some hot lemon water and do a quick NTC stretch app (Full Stretch Guide by Shawn Johnson).  It was a really nice way of waking up, actually.

And because I was on such a roll, I even prepped dinner tonight since I know I’ll be coming home late and hungry.

Currie chicken salad for one that I created via inspiration from my Pinterest.  (If you haven’t yet you should absolutely check out my recipe from last nights Pineapple Chicken Mexican Bake for One,  It was a GREAT one!) 

Thank goodness I went to bed fairly early last night and was able to knock all this out, all before 8 AM!

Question of the Morning:  Do you like your mornings productive or do you normally sleep every last second you can?

I like to wake up early to work out, but that’s normally the only thing I will wake up early for!

Can You Foam Roll Your Chest?

I love my foam roller.  Even as a runner, it has helped me most with my back (maybe I’m not using it correctly with my legs, but honestly it’s awesome with my back).  Let’s hope it can work wonders for your entire body.

Remember that  side stitch I was dealing with this morning? Welp, I tested it out this afternoon with an easy one miler.  It was definitely manageable (I didn’t push the speed too much), but it still hurt.  Which means I likely very minorly pulled or stretched something something too far doing yoga and core work.  Upps.

For the time being I will be switching back and forth between foam rolling my chest, and sitting with a heating pad.

That’s a mix of broccoli salad, orzo, falafel, lemon herb chicken and some parmesan pasta.  You know that’s all going on top of my greens and enjoyed in one big bowl.  And I can’t wait 🙂  I’ve done good about sticking to good simple and healthy foods today to help ease my stomach, so hopefully this continues that trend!

And of course, I’ll be enjoying dinner with JP.  You know.  Juan Pablo.
