Good Morning and Happy Hump Day everyone 🙂 ❤
If the title didn’t give it away, I am SlUgGish this morning. This feeling has been creepin’ up the last couple of days, but it is in full force today. That means I slept in and let my body rest until the very last morning, foregoing any AM workout.
Quite frankly — I think my body was thankful for the rest and hopefully by the end of the work day I am feeling 100% and can get a good sweat fest in. But if not, I’m listening to my body today. I am NOT about to get myself sick again — no way, Jose! Balance, right?
Let’s Backtrack, shall we?
Last Night
I got home last night and hubby was working on the ol’ skis, so I took some time to get in a 45 minute NTC APP yoga routine.
My body was already feeling the slug, because this routine was far more challenging than it normally is. But either way, I finished and felt much more grounded and stretched out afterwards, which is ALWAYS a great thing.
Zach and I are taking advantage of “watch-a-thon” week with Charter right now and currently watching Six Feet Under {dexter, anyone?} We managed to squeak out 3 episodes last night while enjoying a pretty darn good lookin’ dinner if I do say so myself.
We had burgers and green beans — so I had my little guy on top of a bed of greens and all kinds of goodies.
And of course, the green beans — which were huge, juicy and totally delicious. Especially with some parm cheese on top ;).
We actually feel asleep on the couch watching TV (should have been a sign), which may have not helped my sluggish nature this AM. Upps — oh well. You live, and you learn, right?
For right now, I have a delicious breakfast to look forward to, that I plan to enjoy with a ton of water and a cup of coffee. It’s all about hydration today, folks!
Question of the Morning: What’s your favorite side veggie?
Way to listen to your body! Sometimes you’ve just got to let yourself rest. If I’m not being healthy, I am all about the fried okra. However, I loveeee sauteed spinach as a side when I’m trying to be healthy. Mmm mmm mmm.
Thanks, I’m not always very good at it 🙂
fav. go-to side veggie is usually zucchini or sauteed kale. and dude, i feel ya on the sluggish. i’ve been actually “FEELING” a lot, lately… therefore, i am also “BREATHING” a lot lately… haha
haha I think today may be full of a lot of “breathing” My body is telling me something!
i’d be interested to know how you FEEL overall, this month… pay attention to all the subtleties keep me posted. 🙂
so funny though – i was just saying how i wish i liked green beans more. i think it’s like cream of wheat for me – i had so much as a kid that i’m just over them now… yanno how that happens?! 😉
I had them out of a can all the time as a kid — and cannot STAND those. But the fresh ones from the markets, yum!
If you need rest, rest: hope you feel reenergised later on! My fave side veg is Brussel sprouts: yum!
Good one!
I am doing a modified running steak right now, modified because I am taking one day a week off to REST. Sometimes, we need to push and sometimes we do better to just take it easy. Gotta listen to your body. Hope you feel better soon.
Thank you! 🙂
I love roasted veggies as sides. Brussels sprouts and parsnips are two of my favorites 🙂
Parsnips are something we don’t use enough!
Brussels sprouts!!!
yummy — they’re popular today!
So good you’re listening to your body!! To pick one would be unfair to their friends, haha! But I am a big fan of green beans, asparagus and brussel sprouts!
All three are popular today!
I’m glad you got a chance to get in some extra sleep, putting your health first I see 🙂 My favorite veggie sides are asparagus, roasted broccoli, and zucchini. I know that’s 3 but I couldn’t choose.
lol so many people are having exactly the same problem 😉
Veggies are my whole meal!!
NOTHING wrong with that!
Hee hee 🙂 I tried the oil pulling today, filled my mouth with coconut oil…and then someone knocked on the front door!!!
oh no — lol!!!
Hmmmm…so I can’t tell you if it had any effect!!
You should definitely listen to your body. I usually plan my workouts a week ahead and feel guilty if I have to miss one but sometimes we can burn out by focusing too much on our plans and not how we are feeling.
Right now my go-to sides are roasted broccoli or brussel sprouts.
Couldn’t agree more and thank you for the advice!
Hope you’re feeling better!! My favorite veggie is roasted cauli or steamed broccoli!
thank you! thankfully I’m not feeling too bad, just my body telling me it needed some rest!
Sorry you’re under the weather too twin! Take that rest day if you need it! Favorite side veggie- umm the shorter answer would be least favorite side veggie 😉 Love broccoli, peas, corn, Brussels sprouts, green beans, squash, asparagus, kale, etc.
You’re sweet twin! I’m not exactly under the weather — just beat! Exhausted and NOT wanting to get sick 🙂 I’m already feeling better than I was this AM and we’ll see if I get some light running in this afternoon or if I just chilllll.
TOTALLY feel you on the sluggish thing. I could barely get out of bed this morning, and instead of running, I did Jillian Michaels Yoga–which was good, but I took every opportunity to just lie down and rest, ha. Hopefully you’re feeling more energized after a little rest 🙂
haha I’ve done her yoga and it isn’t exactly relaxing! It’s tough, especially if you’re already exhausted!
Ya, I definitely took it easier than usual and didn’t push it very hard. Just wanted to move my body a bit. It think it helped? ha.

I tried to watch Dexter, but couldn’t make it thru the first episode – just too dark for me with all the killing and whatnot. My fave sides have always been beans. Scotty likes beans. But potato based sides are good as well!
