aphoto-13

Namaste everyone 🙂  Day #1 of my #100day Challenge is a yoga class, and specific to the picture a {poorly held} tree pose.    The benefits to yoga are ENDLESS, and I am so happy that it has become such a big part of my life again.

Have a great night everyone 🙂 It’s time for me to enjoy some sushi and bad TV 🙂

#100 Days Challenge

I’ve got some fun and exciting news everyone 🙂

abc

You all know I love a good inspirational selfie right? And being active?

abcd

While I was catching up on some of my favorite inspirational reads this morning — I came across a new #100 day instagram challenge.  I’m always up for a challenge!  Especially one that brings people together to be ACTIVE!

photo 1-16

This instagram challenge that I am starting today is fairly simple.  For 100 CONSECUTIVE days, you are asked to do something active and take a beautiful instagram shot of it as evidence.  Voila!

photo 4-7

This challenge is exciting for me on so many levels, and I’m looking forward to creative ways of filling up my 100 days.  No, this doesn’t mean 100 days of intense cardio.  Been there, done that with the run streak (maybe some day).

For me, this challenge will continue to include the balance that I have been working on in my lifestyle.  Lots of running, but just as importantly lots of yoga, strength training, and long walks with the pups.  It all counts!

So, for the next 100 days, I will be posting at least one picture a day of something on Instagram active that I’m doing/have done that day. (Obviously you need to follow me and cheer me along!).

I hope any of you that might find this as exciting as I do are inspired to jump along and join me!  It’s going to be a fun 100 days!  I’ll be back later with my first photo:  Number 1/100!

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

Good Morning and Happy Monday.  But more importantly. . .

photo 1

Happy St Patrick’s Day!  Wearing my green to show a bit of Irish pride, and protect my hide from being pinched! {see what I did there?}  Anybody have any fun festive plans for the holiday?   I think my evening is going to include some yoga and sushi. . . but I may throw a Guiness in there for good Irish flavor 😉

Yesterday

Yesterday was another beautiful day here in Denver {thank you Spring}

Zach felt like enjoying the sunshine a bit after being in the cold mountains, so we headed to Denver Brew Co for a quick beer.  Of course I went with an Irish stout, hello!

pb snack

I brought a new-to-me but AWESOME snack with us to enjoy along with the beer.  These Earth Balance bite remind me of a peanut butter Cracker Jack, which I HIGHLY approve of!  Zach had a little problem with the idea of the “peanut butter covered peanuts” that were mixed in, but I didn’t.  The more, the merrier when it comes to PB.

Even August was basking in the afternoon sunshine yesterday when we got home from DBC.  I think she may have been a little jealous of the rest of the family enjoying the patio, but that’s OK.  She always forgives us. . .

Sunday evening of course equals pizza night in the Jara household, so that’s exactly what we did.

pizza

Except last night we switched it up a bit.   I made one side of the pizza “Greek” and used up the peppers, feta and basil that we had.  While it was definitely tasty, the lack of wetness on the crust made it a little crispier than we are used to.  More like a flat bread.  We definitely weren’t complaining, just very different.  We of course also had our delicious cheesy side to compensate :).

And then because I just didn’t get enough Peanut butter in my afternoon snack, I answered a quick baking bug and made peanut butter cookies.

That actually ended up being more like peanut butter pancakes (I didn’t want to use much flour at all because I think it makes the cookies chalky — but next time I would add oats so the cookies would hold together better).  With that said, they were still delicious and with the addition of half the sugar, applesauce instead of shortening, pretty healthy as well!

Workout of the Morning

Zach and I went to bed super early last night in hopes to start the week off on the right foot (and he had a 6 AM flight, you know).  That meant I had no excuse to get outta bed and get a quick gym session in to start the week off on the right foot.

bike

I did not AT ALL feel like treadmill running it this AM, so I hoped on our stationary bike and read through some of my blogs for a quick 10 miles.  I ended it with some tricep dips and upper body twists for good measure.   I’m also hoping to squeeze in a yoga class this afternoon,  but we’ll see how the day goes!

Happy St Patties Day Everyone!

Question of the Morning:  Are you Irish?  Do you celebrate, whether or not you’re Irish?
