Phew! What an evening . . .
This was the evening of distractions, all beginning with Zach’s call at 730 letting me know his flight from Chicago was officially cancelled. But, my stubborn boy was bound and determined to get home. He managed to find a flight leaving O’hare at 851 local time to Colorado Springs. Thankfully, he had enough time to run to the gate and get on — with the plane leaving just about 25 minutes late.
The conditions in Denver were expected to be pretty bad. Let’s just say they were bad, but could have been worse. I was a little more concerned than normal for Zach’s flight, so I distracted myself with lots of yoga, TV, a late dinner, LOTS of chips, TV and a good chunk of the huge cookie I made last night.
Yum
Even better. . .
At about 1115 I got the call from Zach that he had made it into Colorado Springs, had met a guy on the flight who he was going to rent a car with and drive into the city together. The fact that he had a buddy made me feel a little better, so at this point I was finally able to catch a bit of sleep until he got in around 1 AM.
At that point I was so exhausted but RELIEVED that he made it home. We had a bit more of the cookie (yes, at 1 AM) and then went to bed, hopeful for a snow day.
Unfortunately, no snow day this morning. . . so it was routine as normal. Wake up at 6 AM to head to the gym — but at least I switched up the work out!
Workout of the day: Bootcamp run
- 1 mile run
- 20 incline sit ups
- 20 chest press (30 lbs)
- repeat 3 times
- 3 sets of:
- 20 incline sit ups
- 20 rows (30 lbs)
- 20 leg press (50 lbs)
- plus an extra set of 20 incline sit ups
This was a GREAT way to switch up my routine and still get some cardio in!
Alright everyone — one more day of work stands between me and our honeymoon!!!
