Quick one this morning. Gotta be in work a little bit early today (but hey, that means I get to leave early too. . . not a bad deal).
I Got a Craving
I have been craving sushi crazy-style lately. And not just any sushi, as crazy as this may sound, I’ve been craving Whole Foods Pacific Salad Roll. I have been wanting it for more than a week now . . . knowing that it’s my treat when Zach is gone. Welp, the boy isn’t going to be gone anytime soon . . . so yesterday at breakfast (yes, I think about later meals AS I’m eating a meal . . . ) I asked if it was OK if I skipped our normal dinner plans and picked myself up some sushi.
Of course my wonderful husband didn’t care and last night, my craving was fulfilled. Do you ever get that? Where you have a craving and nothing else will do? Yikes. . . I needed that sushi.
Last Night
Besides my delicious sushi, Zach and I took our day off yesterday as a chance to relax and enjoy each other.
. . . and the furballs. Including those that we are dogsitting. Hello Molly!
I took some time to make a running log (I really want to keep track of my miles this year, not just trust daily mile) and enjoyed a pot of black tea through out the afternoon in trying to help sooth my sore throat.
Overall it was a perfectly relaxing evening that made it fairly easy for me to wake up this morning ready to get moving.
Workout Of The Morning: 4 miles progressive
- Start at 6.3, go up each minute every minute until 10. Restart
- (random 8.0 thrown in there to keep things moving)
I finished my run in 35:30 and was so thankful to get it out of the way. Zach and I are hoping to stay over in Winter Park again this weekend. If we ARE able to do that, then tomorrow will be my rest day with Saturday and Sunday full of skiing and lesser running. I’m excited 🙂
Question of the Morning: Do you ever get cravings you just can’t ignore?

No cravings these days..however, when I was pregnant my cravings where crazy: ketchup chips for 3 weeks straight and grapes the entire pregnancy with Hilary.
Grapes are a good present, right?
It’s weird, but sometimes I can “smell” what I’m going to eat later, even if I don’t have plans. It’s like a future smelling sense.
Ok that’s a little weird, even for you 😉
I get weird cravings like that all the time. That’s why I eat random things like waffles or a PB&J sandwich for dinner…I know, who craves PB&J?
I actually LOVE anything PB, so I don’t judge at all.
Oh okay good. I knew my twin wouldn’t judge 😉

I don’t get cravings so much as I’ll eat the same food at the same time every day for a while. We call them my food jogs. Don’t ask about the time I ate a pepper and bean “salad” every day for lunch for 2 years.

It seriously only took me like 5 minutes to make! Love it!
It’s also a great way to motivate yourself to run because who wants to see blank spaces?! It’s a lot easier to let days go by without a run when you can’t actual visualize it 🙂

I wish I were spending the day in the snow! I also am not feeling 100% so the tea is what the doc ordered!
I often think about my next meal as I’m eating a meal, probably not the best habit but I’m getting better about not doing it. I love your running log by the way 🙂

I’m in the UK, so not really! But London is full of sushi places… will definitely have to get some for lunch tomorrow!

We have it, but I don’t think they have the full range of stuff… I think it’s more the beauty products and more specialised things you can’t get anywhere else over here. But yeah… we’ve got sushi on every street corner, so I’m sure I’ll manage! Now all I have to do is wait 14 hours…!

LOVE Whole Foods sushi! Spicy combo or the shrimp summer rolls are super tasty! But the roll you posted looks great too. Good luck with your running log! That is one thing I just can’t get myself motivated enough to do…
