Dinner Plans Got Cancelled

Whomp Whomp.

Thanks to the crazy Denver weather, our dinner plans got cancelled for me for the evening (Zach still went out).

So that left me on my own for the evening.  Hmmm….what’s a girl to do?

What’s a girl to do…

Well duhh…

  • run a couple extra miles
  • do some abs
  • eat some sushi
  • drink some sweet wine
  • eat a cookie

Yup — sounds perfect to me 🙂

So, I hit up the gym

  • Ran 3 miles

Did some quick abs

  • 20 reverse crunches
  • 20 leg lifts
  • 20 bicycles
  • 20 bridges
  • 60 second plank

Picked up some Whole Foods Sushi 🙂

And ate a cookie because of course it’s National Cookie Day (That’s for real…fyi)

So that is exactly what I do when my dinner plans get cancelled.  I guess it’s not always bad when plans get cancelled :).

Question of the Evening:  When was the last time your plans were cancelled? What’d you do?

WIAW — Thanksgiving Edition

While we’re all trying to stay warm here out West, I’m warming my HEART by going back through my favorite Holiday eats of the past week . . . with the star being THANKSGIVING OF COURSE!

Time of WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY — Thanksgiving Edition!  As always, WIAW is hosted by the talented and adorable Jenn at Peas and Crayons

Thanksgiving Meal

Seriously, this was one of my favorite Thanksgiving meals in memory.  SO fresh, full of flavor and even fairly healthy!  LOVED IT.  My favorite bites were probably the stuffing on top of the greens, but it was all great!

While it doesn’t photograph well, Zach’s family has a holiday tradition of making French Silk Pie, and this years did NOT disappoint :). YUM

Breakfast Treat

My sister-in-law made some DELICIOUS homemade sticky buns for us all to enjoy with our Thanksgiving morning coffee…oh man were they sinful.  I am shocked that I limited myself to one!  I wanted the whole pan!

Thanksgiving Snacks

We snacked on a BUNCH of cheese, crackers and wine (beer for the boys) all afternoon during the holiday.  But let’s be real. . . I can snack on that stuff any day!

And that, my friends, was WIA- Thanksgiving Edition 🙂  SOOO good, I miss the holiday and family already 🙂 ❤

Question of the Afternoon:  What was your favorite item on your Thanksgiving plate this year?

Stuffing, for sure.

Baby It’s Cold Outside

Denver, along with much of the country, is under the arctic blast of cold and snow currently.   Good times in the city 🙂

Thankfully Zach and I had a nice healthy dinner last night to fuel me through the morning.  Bright salads with tomato, spinach, butter lettuce, carrots, onion Parmesan cheese and some chicken for me.   Of course, with a side of cranberry walnut bread, my favorite.

This Morning

I was very hopeful for a snowday today, but since we weren’t so lucky, I got myself up at the normal hour for a workout.

Workout of the day:  4 miles with random speed work

finished in a little under 36 minutes.

I’m still working on getting the last bit of gunk out of my chest, but my legs felt great!

I then braved the cold and snow and ran by Whole Foods again for some oatmeal, fruit and dried fruit.

I am loving this stuff :).

We’ve got exciting dinner plans tonight, so I’m looking forward to squeaking through the work day to make it through to dinner :).

Stay warm, stay safe, and have a great Wednesday everyone!
