Happy Tuesday Night everyone 🙂 I hope it’s been a good one — my evening has been pretty perfect in my standards. That is minus crazy traffic I hit on the way home. My thoughts are with the people involved in the wreck on 6th Avenue tonight. . .
By the time I got home, I needed a stress relief. Despite my extremely sore legs (hello speed work and squats), I was able to make it out for a dark run with the husband and pup. I knew that the beginning would be lead legs, but hoped they would loosen up as we went.
Workout of the Evening: 4 miles outdoor with the pup and hub.
- Mile 1: 903
- Mile 2: 915
- Mile 3: 912
- Mile 4: 912
My legs did loosen up and thankfully we were able to hit a groove and kept a very manageable pace for the short run. Short, but perfect way to de-stress, and quite frankly I never pass up an opportunity to run with Zach. Even though I don’t talk all that much on runs, I love that he is getting out there with me, not because he loves it, but because he knows how much I love it.
Cute AWWWE moment
Moving on:
I had a nice surprise when I got home waiting in the mail!
My friend and fellow very inspiring blogger friend at Focused to be Fit reached out to me last week about sampling some Shakeology products. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity! I was SO excited and will definitely be sampling them this week and sharing my thoughts with all of you!
Thanks so much Lauren!
Grub
Food really never tasted as good as it does after a good run.
Salmon prepared with lemon, sriracha, salt, pepper and dill. All on top of a salad of greens, green onion, carrot and broccoli.
Healthy and satisfying. Love it!
Now I just have to figure out dessert 🙂
Question of the Night: Do you drink protein shakes/products? What kind?
I drink shakes that I make myself with Sun Warrior protein. I lift pretty heavy weights, and I’m a vegetarian; I know the RDA for protein is 0.8 per 1 kg body weight, which would put me at about 51 grams per day. But I have heard of people not seeing results unless they are eating upwards of 100 grams per day! So I try to hit it somewhere in the middle.
I think that’s a smart balance!
Gawww too cute! So sweet of you to run with twin, Zach! OMG I can’t wait to hear about the Shakeology stuff! I’ve heard about it but don’t know much. I have an organic plant based protein powder by RAW that I like.
He’s a keeper, I tell ya :). And I have actually never had a protein shake before, so I’m excited!
That salmon sounds delish! I always just end up throwing salt and pepper on mine because I’m not sure how to season it, I’ll have to try that-I love sriracha and dill 🙂
The lemon is also really good to add acid to the fish!
That dinner looks really yummy!
Pretty delish 🙂
yay today was a great day to run outdoors!!
I loved it! There was something peaceful about the dark too
I don’t usually have protein powder in the house but when I do I have a lot of fun experimenting with shakes
I’m excited to try them!
Can’t wait to hear what you this of Shakeology. I’ve wanted to try it but haven’t taken the plung. I’ve tried two protein shakes (vega was one and I can’t remember the other). I’ve never got serious about them – maybe because I suck at making the drink 😉
I plan to try the chocolate one tomorrow, so I will definitely let you all know 🙂
Wow that salmon looks absolutely gorgeous! Well done on the run 🙂
It did photograph well, didn’t it!
LOVE Shakeology! I had a Chocolate Banana Nutter today! 1 Banana, 1 Tbsp. All Natural PB, 1 cup of water, a serving of Chocolate Shakeology. I add ice and blend it to make it milkshake consistency. I cant wait for you to try it! You’ll love it! What flavor are you sampling?
I have chocolate and vanilla! I need to get on that!
