Don’t know when I’ll be back again. . .
Armageddon reference anyone?
I’m coming to you from the British Airways Admiral’s Lounge in DIA airport
sippin’ on some espresso and having some snacks.
I’m not normally thankful for Zach’s traveling schedule…but this morning I am. Free espresso, apples, coffee, and snacks? Yes please.
An AM Run
We had to be out of the apartment by 7 this morning to catch our flight, so in order to squeeze in a quick run I had myself rolling out of bed right after 5 AM. WOOF.
I say WOOF, but it was surprisingly easy to get moving. I had it already set in my mind that I was doing this run, and quite frankly before the flight was the only time it was going to happen. So, I made it happen.
Work Out Of The Day: 4 speed miles on the treadmill
- 1 mile warm up (940 pace)
- 1 mile at 8 minute pace
- 2 minute cool down
- same 8 minute pace until I hit mile 3 (about .75 mile)
- 2 minute cool down
- 8 minute pace until I hit 3.9
- cool down pace until 4
A little weird, but it worked for me. I was surprised that for my 4th day in a row, my legs responded fairly well to the speed work and I finished right at 35:27.
That has me at 57.5 miles for the month for the POTM challenge. So at mid month, I’m 7.5 miles ahead. Gotta keep pushin’, but I like it.
I was looking up my miles for the year on DailyMile yesterday . . . (find me, friend me! :). When 2013 started, I had a goal of running 1000 miles over the year. Unfortunately, it looks like I’m at just about 760 currently. While it looks like 1000 will be out of the cards for 2013, that original goal is still helping me push it to as close as I possibly can to 1000. Shoot for the stars, right?
Hope you all have a GREAT Friday! I may be a little spotty with posting this weekend, but you better believe I will be thinking about you all, taking as many pictures as possible, and posting WHENEVER I can! 🙂
Question of the Morning: How many miles do you think you’ve run this year?
UGH. Where are you going twin?!! I’m tempted to look on the DIA website and look at all flights leaving from British Airways between the hours of 7-12 today…but I think that’s a little stalkerish.
And hmm I have no idea how many I’ve run! I know over 300…but I cannot be more specific.
LOL I literally just laughed out loud. Oh twin, you’re my favorite 🙂 I’m totally OK if you stalk me.
LOL aww thanks twin, I’m glad I have your blessing to stalk you 😉
Have a great trip!
Thanks it was amazing!
Ummmm. I think I have run a total of 1 miles all year 😉
But it’s possible that I have skated 760. I wonder if there’s a way to track that…
760 skated miles is GREAT!
Traveling is SO much more tolerable if you get a run in before! Plus, the entire run you can think about your trip which makes it more entertaining. The Armageddon soundtrack is awesome by the way.
I am so the same way! I am so much more relaxed during travels when I get a run in before! Hence why we just got back from a run right before we head out for O’hare.
Way to stick with that EARLY workout – 5am – woof is right!! Safe travels!
Thanks lady!
Way to squeeze it in! Safe travels!
Have a great trip! I’m so jealous, have so much fun, hopefully your run will make sleeping on a plane easier 🙂
Thank you!! 🙂
I made a goal at the beginning of the year to run 750 miles this year (I had no concept of how crazy my year would be though!) So I don’t think I will hit that, but I know I’m at a few hundred! I always look back on my nike+ at the end of the year and add it up. And on that note, time for a run (4 miles, since that’s what you did today ;))
LOL I love that we inspire each other! 🙂
I typically run 50-60 miles a week. Good lord. Low balling it for 50 miles a week for the past 46 weeks is 2300 miles…That’s a lot of miles!!! Have a fun safe trip, can’t wait to see pics!!
That is SO awesome! You’re an inspiration!
I could probably count on two hands how many times I’ve run this year….I’ll just blame it on baby #2 😉
I’m excited to started increasing my miles (km here in Canada) next year and improving my running – hopefully by a lot!
Are you aiming for 1000 miles next year ?
Absolutely aiming for 1000 next year. I’ll be cutting it close this year so it’ll be inspiration for next year.
Good for you!
Safe travels!! Oh, and I’d say about 300 miles this year.. I will aim high next year!
300 is great!
That’s awesome you squeezed in a workout before your flight! Talk about motivation 🙂
Thanks hun!
Wow!!! i have no idea how many miles this year. I always used to do around 35 & up a week, but probably more like 20 these days!!
You’ve got that 5k down to a science now though!
That’s an awesome speed workout! I’m going to have to remember that for the next time I’m stuck on the treadmill for speedwork. Looks fantastic!
I get SO bored on the treadmill if I don’t switch it up.
“Have a great trip.
Around 700 miles a year.If went out of station count of miles much more.”
