A Sunday Run

I was so excited to tell you all about our fashionable evening that I didn’t even mention my WOD and run this morning.

Perfect running shoes

After a late evening, and a couple cocktails, I was surprised to wake up feeling fairly good.

I have been working on intentionally hydrating and getting more water in, and I think that is a big reason that, while I’ve had a little more fun than normal, I have still been able to kick out some good workouts.

H20 + Nuun = good for this runner.

Workout of the Day: 4 miles speed work on the treadmill

The workout was all over the place, but I felt strong so I just kind of went with it.  Here is what I remember:

  • 1 mile warm up (about 945 pace)
  • An 800 at about 800 pace
  • 400 recovery @ 945 pace
  • 10 minutes: 1 minute at 8.0 pace, 1 minute at 6.1 pace
  • Finish out varying between 6.4 and 8.0
  • Finished at 35:30 for 4 miles

Then did brief upper body work and was NICE and sweaty

yesterday’s picture, but I felt strong once again today

Overall, a good, quick and sweaty work out.  My favorite

Pile On the Miles Update

With a 1 mile walk Friday, 6.6 mile run yesterday, and 4 mile run today, I’m up to 38.85 miles for November.

My goal for the month is 100, so I know I will be pushing it. . . but just knowing how high my goal was is challenging me to get out there and move!

At this point…I think I am bowing out of Officially doing Piper’s 30 day thigh challenge.  I will continue to do it on days that I can fit it in, but the two challenges combined were starting to interfere with one another (my legs aren’t going to want to run as that thigh challenge got further).

I will still absolutely do some of the workouts though. . . so I’ll keep you up to date when I do!

Alright, back to relaxing 🙂

I’ll be back later with an old favorite: Silent Sunday!

Question of the Afternoon:  How are you doing with your healthy goals/challenges this November?

A Fashion Show and My Model

Last night Zach and I stayed up WAY past our bedroom and went to a cocktail event and fashion show at the Four Seasons hotel.

Well, I went to it to the event, Zach WALKED in it

Tough to see by the pictures, but last night my hot hubby was a model in a fashion show featuring suits by MetroBoom, the amazing personal brander that worked to create Zach’s AMAZING suit for our wedding.

MetroBoom  has been a dream for Zach and I to work with, even beyond the wedding.

I don’t know if I mentioned this on the blog. . . but right as we were getting introduced at our wedding, Zach ripped his pants on a glass table near the entrance.  Unfortunately, this rip was NO WHERE near a seam, and so no way repairable.  The staff at MetroBoom was amazing, and created Zach a beautiful navy suit (that he modeled last night) at cost (literally like 1/8 the retail price or something crazy) since his silver suit was non-repairable.   No questions asked.  They want their clients to be 100 % happy with their goods, and we have been!

Now, we just have a hysterical story from the wedding about how Zach ripped his pants, and got a new suit.

ANYWAYS, I digress…

Since Zach has spent so much time at MetroBoom and is a huge supporter of theirs, he was happy to show that support and model the goods for them last night.

So we got dressed up all fancy and spent the evening at The Four Seasons.  Way out of our comfort zone, way past our bed time, but a TON of fun.

Of course, I’m a terrible blogger and didn’t take any pictures of us together, but I did get a picture of my shiny wedding shoes that I got to break out once again last night!’

Yes . . . I did end up being “that girl” on the way home barefoot.  And I’m almost not even ashamed. . . those things HURT!

I know it’s hard to read, but there was one moment from last night that stood out for me:

Weeks before the event last night, Zach met up with the MetroBoom staff to take pictures and answer a questionaire to play along with the fashion show last night.

He had no idea that I was going to be reading this, or that it would be public. . . but while he was modeling slides came up showing him in the suit and reading off the questions that he answered about himself.

Including one that surprised me:

Role Model:  Wife,  Ashley

This almost made me tear up.  It was such a sweet and nice little surprise, and reminded me just how lucky I really am.

Needless to say it was an out of the box, out of the ordinary, FUN evening!  A perfect way to start the birthday celebrations!

Question of the Morning:  Who is your role model?
