Another weekly update on the highlight meals and grub of my past week.
As always, a big thank you to the wonderful Jenn at Peas and Crayons for hosting!
Breakfast
My favorite breakfast this week was definitely an indulgent one. A raspberry crumble bar from Gallop Cafe. One of our favorites 🙂
My other breakfasts have been the standard, apples, fruit, yogurt and granola.
Lunch
This grab and go sammie from Vitamin Cottage (Natural grocers for most people) was a turkey sammie with mozzarella, fig spread and tomato butter. Seriously amazing flavor combo and perfect for fall.
Afternoon Snack
Hello, Pecan Pie cliff bar. Umm, yum. If you are a fan of Cliff Bars, this is one you HAVE to try.
Dinner
The tortilla soup last night…with out a doubt. There is something about crockpot meals that just make me happy, heart and soul! And it made me feel good to have something healthy and soothing for Zach when he got home from his traveling.
Dessert/Treats
Holy Crap. This lemon cake was TO DIE FOR..and let me tell you, put all my Halloween candy snacking as of late to shame. YUM.
And that my friends, is another edition of WIAW 🙂 Thanks, as always, to the adorable Jenn for hosting! 🙂
Question of the Afternoon: Your favorite eat of the week, give it to me!
I’d have to say that lemon cake. I love me some icing.
Yum! I made some buffalo turkey burgers from a skinny taste recipe earlier this week – definitely my best eat of the week!
Ummm YUM!
The pecan pie Clif bar is SO good. I thought I’d love the pumpkin one the best but I was wrong.
I mixed apple pie preserves into yogurt earlier this week for a quick snack. I think that’s been my favorite eat so far.
Wait a minute, apple pie preserves? Does this have crust in it? Because yum.
Yummm that sandwich sounds amazing!
It was pretty good 🙂
Oh my…that breakfast…so jealous.
I haven’t had many great eats this week unfortunately. My dad is trying to lose weight and cut back on carbs per doctor’s orders, so my mom (and I) has been cooking accordingly. Twin, I need my carbs. BUT I guess my favorite eat would be a piece of Swiss chocolate 🙂
Ahhh I’m so glad you are learning to appreciate chocolate twin. You’re certainly starting with the good stuff!
Lol I know, I might become a chocolate snob. Please slap me if I do.
That actually sounds really good!
yum! i love cliff bars, maybe I’ll have to try out the pecan pie one. My favorite eat is probably the pumpkin bread I made yesterday
That looked SO good!
These all look so dang good! I must be hungry. My fave eat this week, turkey sausage chili:)
That sounds yummy!
That ALL looks delicious! My fave eat of the week was chilli pasta with chorizo and a tomato & chilli sauce. Yummy!
yummy is right!
A season Cliff Bar delivery. You’re one lucky lady! Enjoy 🙂
Favorite eat of the week? A savory scramble with Basmati Rice (recipe posted on my blog)
I wish they were delivered! I just found that pic online, haha.
I love Clif Bars! Have you ever tried Quest Bars? Those are good too!
Everything looks so yummy but that Turkey and Fig sandwich looks especially delicious. I love the combination and would never think to combine the two! 🙂
It was great! I loved the flavor combo!
Pecan Clif Bars? Why was I not aware of those? Off to hunt some down…
They are AMAZING
I saw the tortilla soup pictures and immediately began to salivate. It looks sooooooooo good. Thank you for providing the recipe, too. It’s bookmarked and will be made soon.
Please let me know when you try it!!!
I definitely will. I’ll be out of town until the weekend but after that, yummm.
The weekend temps here will be somewhere between 19 and 30 degrees, so what better time for a hearty soup. 🙂
Perfect soup temps 🙂
