So while I am beyond happy to be feeling better . . .
My poor husband is now down for the count. This poor, sad little sight is what I came home to from work this afternoon.
I asked this on twitter when I got home:
What’s worse? Being sick yourself or coming home to a sick husband on your first day back from work.
The poor guy is a trooper and in general handles being sick pretty darn well, but I tried to make my wifely duties proud and take care of him tonight.
Make his favorite mea:
Homemade pizza
- half a green pepper
- half a yellow onion, sauteed and blackened before
- one yellow beat steamed
- pepperoni
- mozzarella cheese
- crust from sprouts
While Zach certainly has the pizza making down, mine wasn’t so bad if I do say so myself.
He’s done such a great job of taking care of me this week, it was almost nice to pay him back and do wifely duties.
The poor animals are a bit confused about what’s going on around this house though 🙂
Sweepstakes Loot
Guess what I won! A box of my FAVORITE thinkThin creamy peanut butter bars. I know I’m trying to eat real foods, and less processed goodies. But these are my absolutely favorite. And quite frankly, the stats aren’t bad. 20 grams of protein and 0 grams of sugar. Not.Too.Shabby.
Thanks thinkThin for sending me the loot! You can be confident that I’ll love every.single.bite 🙂
Tonight
And now, it’s time to return to my poor sick boy and enjoy the chocolate I brought home to cheer him up. (All while watching THE CARDINALS of course)
Mexican Dark Chocolate discs for him
And a spicy dark bar for me — along with a lot of H20 of course.
Long Run
I am hopeful that I can get a good run in tomorrow morning. Of course, my FIRST priority is my health, and the second I feel pain, weird, exhausted, then I will stop and respect what my body needs.
You all know I’ll let you know how it goes.
Have a great Friday night all.
Question of the Night: What’s worse? You being sick, or your loved ones?
It’s a tough one, but my poor boy is SO pitiful I have to say it’s worse to see him sick.
Yum! That pizza looks so good! I hope you both get to feeling better. There is nothing worse than a sick husband (at least mine, anyways)!
Mines a trooper but it’s so sad!
Ha! It’s definitely me! My husband doesn’t complain at all when he’s sick. I’m a whiny baby about it!
I’m completely miserable and just want to be alone — for the most part! When I want people around, I want them nearby but not necessarily REALLY nearby. haha
I HATE when my husband is sick. He isn’t a huge complainer by any means but I would much rather be sick myself. I feel like I “suck it up” better than he does. 🙂
Also, I’ve been seeing those Think Thin bars a few places recently. I should check them out.
Have a great weekend!
Haha — it depends what it is when it comes to me being able to suck it up. I don’t do headaches well, that’s definitely a weakness.
That’s a close call. I really hate getting sick but I think in the end it’s worse seeing a loved one sick. I automatically go into nurse mode, making sure they’re getting enough fluids, sleeping, etc. I guess I chose a good future career. Good luck on getting in a long run, I hope everything goes well!
They both are brutal! haha
So sweet of your husband taking such good care of you last week. Too bad he has it now. Hopefully he will feel better quickly!
It’s definitely going to be me being sick that is worse than my husband. He rarely gets sick and I get sick constantly. Plus, when I get sick my body never deals with it well. I’m not a baby about it but I end up bed-ridden no matter how hard I try to resist. When my husband gets sick the symptoms are always very light and he’s over it in a day or two.
No I’m awful too when I get sick — youre so right I feel like I’m just out for the count, even though I feel like in general I have a pretty high tolerance.
Oh no! Poor Zach! I hope he gets well soon! Isn’t this how it always works? If I get sick, Kyle takes care of me and then subsequently gets sick (or vice versa).
Seriously it is! I feel awful for him — especially with his crazy travel schedule the next couple of weeks. Thank goodness he is a TROOPER!
Oh no, I hope everyone is OK!
