My BFF is HERE!

How is it already Sunday again?

Weekends go by WAY too fast.  Especially when your best friend from back home comes in town 🙂

When I left you all yesterday, I ate a quick breakfast while I waited for Zoe and the boys to get into Denver (they’re staying about 45 minutes from Denver, and Zach was running errands).

By this point I was having trouble keeping much of anything down, but I did manage to get down a blueberry crumble, some frozen cherries and Nuun :).

We headed to Denver Brew Co around 2 to meet up with everyone

I was so excited to see Zoe again that it took us a few hours of chatting and enjoying our beers to hear my tummy growling.

Luckily, our favorite food truck was there, so pizza for everyone! 🙂

Zoe and I split a fun guy, which was goat cheese and a lot of muschroomy goodness.

And the boys split a different one, but they ate it before I even got an idea of what was on it ;).

We hung out at Brew Co until about 5, when we headed back to let the pup out real quick, then headed to a sports bar downtown where we could watch the St Louis Blues play (Zoe and I are both huge fans).

There was a lot of hummus and popcorn eaten at this stop, but the most important part of the bar, and the only element that got photographed, was the shuffle board.

Zach and I lost two games, pretty badly, but it was still fun :).

By this point it was about 9, and my crabby pants were coming out full force, so we headed to Wazee Supper Club for a late dinner (well, late in my books).

The losers — and our very awkward pictures lol.

By the time our food got to us (Chicken Caesar for me), I was too hungry and pulled a bad blogger move and didn’t take any photos.  But the salad and chicken hit the spot after a day of snacking away.

By the time we were done at Wazee,  we were all pretty tired and called it a night.

I may or may not have made a quick peanut butter cookie when I got home . . . but we’ll leave that up to question :).

This Morning

I woke up pretty exhausted and sore from my 13.1 on the treadmill, but needed to sweat out some excess beer and wine, so I headed to the gym for a bit easier than normal work out.

Workout of the day:  50 minutes on the treadmill

  • 10  minute warm up incline walking (3.5 at 8% incline) with 3 lb weights
  • 30 minutes easy running
  • 10 minute cool down incline walking with 3 lb weights

I finished with about 4.25 miles and feeling much better and was surprisingly sweaty.

And now, it’s time for me to shower up and then eat the cinnamon crunch bagel Zach brought me home yesterday from his errands 🙂

Question of the Morning:  Do you live far away from your best friend?

  1. I have several “best friends”, and one of them lives in the UK while I live in South Africa. I miss her terribly, but when we see each other, it’s like nothing’s changed in our friendship.

  2. Sounds like an eventful Saturday! I don’t know if I’d be able to get myself to sweat out the beer/wine after a late night out. My BFF lives an hour away, but we don’t see each other much even though were so close. Her work hours are crazy opposite of mine – Nights and weekends as opposed to your typical day job! I don’t know how she does it.

  3. Man you’re beast. Working out after your half!

If I’m going to be dorky, my BF-BFF (Kyle) lives only a few miles from me. But my other BFF only lives a few towns over, maybe 25 min door to door. But we went to college farther apart, so that was harder.
