My Husband Is One Lucky Man

Let me tell you how much of a party our night has been in the Jara household.

Yes that’s right.  A box of Wheat Thins, coffee cup of candy, and my first glass of Nuun.

Just hanging out in my compression gear and snacks.

PS:  If you haven’t tried Nuun, do it now.  I LOVED it — and while I’m sure it’s mental, am actually starting to feel better.  I may have found my new hydration trick during my long runs (and the night before, it’s seriously tasty).

Now if that isn’t how you get ready for a long run — I don’t know what is 😉

Of course, there has been some dinner somewhere in there as well.

Our CostCo spinach ravioli with a whole lot of roasted veggies underneath.  Topped off with parmesan cheese and roasted acorn squash seeds from our dinner last night.

How resourceful is Zach?  He remembered loving pumpkin seeds when I’ve baked them, so he tried it with these as well. Smart – and tasty!

We’ve already watched one movie tonight, and 3 episodes of Park and Rec.  So if you’ll excuse me.  I need to get back to this party.

Man my hubby is one lucky guy 😉

Question of the Night: Have you tried Nuun?  Thoughts?

Friday Favorites — October 4

Another Friday all!  TIme for the round up 🙂

Favorite Run

My 5 mile hilly run at Crown Hill Park.  I still can’t get over how beautiful it was.

I’ve gotta say my little bagel and egg sandwiches have been on the top of my radar this week.  They’re so simple, yet so awesome.

Favorite Moment

I would have to say all 90 minutes that I spent at the blogging class.  It was such a cool experience that I’m still thinking about! 🙂

And of course, a round up of the rest of my good eats for the week 🙂

Doesn’t look great but was SO good!

It was a week of a lot of at home, good eats I would say! 🙂

And last but not least, my five Friday Favorites:

  1. Hot tea — I’ve been living on hot tea this week since I haven’t been feeling so hot.
  2. The fact that I get to see my MOH this week 🙂
  3. My hubby, again — because I still have him and he is going to be traveling so much in the next couple of weeks
  4. Snow — we’ve had our first snow fall and I must admit, it’s pretty. Cold, but pretty.
  5. Myself — I’ve really tried to push through some things this week.  So I guess I’ll give myself a little pat on the back this week ;).

Question of the Afternoon:  One word description of your week or how you’ve felt this week.

Friday Round Up — October 4, 2013

Happy Friday Morning Everyone — another week in the books.

I’ve got to run to a resource fair for work this morning, but I didn’t want to forget about you all, of course.

I wasn’t feeling too hot last night, but did get some good R and R, which helped relieve my headache. Still not 100%, but definitely showing improvement.

I knew I needed to take it easy, because it is a rest day but also because I haven’t been feeling great.  A cold nasty morning here in Denver was perfect for some yoga.

Workout of the Morning:  Seated Hatha Yoga

It was exactly what I needed and helped to start my day on a balanced food 🙂

And as for my workouts of the week, they may not have gone exactly as planned, but I did fit everything in, which is what matters most to me :).

Workout Round of Up the Week:

Here is what was planned for the week on Monday:

  • Monday:  10 miles bike, 30 minutes strength
  • Tuesday: 5 mile run
  • Wednesday: STRENGTH / Yoga
  • Thursday: 5 mile run
  • Friday: REST
  • Saturday: 13 mile run — EESH
  • Sunday: Recovery run/bike

And here’s how everything panned out:

  • Monday: 10 miles stationary bike and 30 minutes strength training
  • Tuesday: 5 mile treadmill speed run
  • Wednesday: 5 mile outdoor hilly run
  • Thursday:  10 miles stationary bike and 20  minutes strength training
  • Friday: Yoga
  • Saturday: 13.1 mile training long run
  • Sunday: Recovery run/bike

Still planned

My Maid of Honor is in town for the weekend, so I am planning on meeting up with her whenever she is free, which also means I may need to be a little flexible with this weekends work outs.  Quite frankly, I’m OK with that.  As long as I get some miles in,  I’m prioritizing Zoe :).

And that, my friends, has been my week!   Another one in the books 🙂

Question of the Morning:  Did you have a good week?  What was your favorite workout?
