Happy Last Day of September 🙂
Denver was freezing this weekend, but is giving us a nice week to start off the new month — so even though it’s Monday morning, no complaints from this girl.
Thanks to my restful afternoon, I was VERY well rested and enjoyed a relaxing evening watching football and eating pizza and cookies 🙂
Not a bad night, right? 😉
I woke up this morning actually feeling good and didn’t have to work too hard at talking myself into a work out.
Workout of the Day: 10 miles stationary bike: 30 minutes strength
The strength portion of the work out was broken into 3 sets of 15, doing 2 different superset mini circuits.
- bicep curl (20 lbs)
- shoulder press (20 lbs)
- lateral raise (20 lbs)
- 60 second plank
The second mini circuit was
- incline sit ups
- bridges
- bicycle crunches
- leg lifts
By the time I finished each set — I was TOAST. A good sign of a good workout.
I thought about my workout plan for the week while I was on the bike:
Workout Plan for the Week:
- Monday: 10 miles bike, 30 minutes strength
- Tuesday: 5 mile run
- Wednesday: STRENGTH / Yoga
- Thursday: 5 mile run
- Friday: REST
- Saturday: 13 mile run — EESH
- Sunday: Recovery run/bike
A few elements that MAY change this week:
- I am taking a blogging class tomorrow, so I may switch yoga to tomorrow and do back-to-back runs.
- We may hike this weekend, which would probably change Sunday’s plans.
Otherwise, I am hoping to stick as close to this as possible. This is my last extended long run — after this week I am dropping mileage and beginning tapering — with a 10 and 9 mile long runs before the race. AHHH it’s getting real! 🙂
And now — it’s time to hit the ground running at work. Happy Monday, All! 🙂
Question of the Day: Does it feel like Fall where your at? Are the leaves changing?
Unfortunately Colorado doesn’t really have much “color” but we do know it’s Fall by the mountains starting to show snow tops!
This morning was awesome! After pilates I decided to go out for a short walk, it was amazing. I felt SO refreshed 🙂
Look at you!! AMAZING – I’m so proud! 🙂 Are you going to post about it?
No, it was dark so I couldn’t take pictures and I don’t think my walk down the street was inspirational to anyone else but me.
😦 Work is busy today and tonight there isn’t enough internet to go around at home 😦 I have a couple of posts started and I am hoping to get some time to finish them, but I don’t have much to write. My life is quiet and boring 😉
Sometimes quiet and boring is GREAT!
Thank you, Ashley 🙂
love the week’s workout plan – spin AM tomorrow/yoga PM tomorrow, light cardio/strength AM thursday/yoga PM thursday and finally Saturday morning spin. Philadelphia is still pretty warm for this time of year but the leaves are changing and its beautiful! I borrowed the picture for today’s post but intend to snap some in the coming days!
Happy Last Day of September (the month totally flew by!)
Holy Cow! That sounds like an AWESOME week!
Haha, I can’t work out everyday but I find two-a-days a few times a week is much easier…for me anyway! Kudos to you for the daily grind!
Kudos to you lady!!!
I’ve noticed that you do a decent amount of yoga. I was thinking of starting Bikram Yoga. What are your thoughts?
I haven’t done Bikram yet — but I did a lot of Core Power Yoga’s HPF class, which is a shorter version. It’s a mental struggle for me. . . 2 hours in 105 might have me crying uncle.
Oh no! These classes are an hour and a half long. I thought it would be good to try for the winter. I know when it starts to get cold out I don’t like to work out as much, but I figure if I spice it up then I will keep my momentum.
No I used to LOVE hot yoga in the winter — it is SO much easier to do in the winter.
A blogging class??? Cool!!!! Make sure you tell us about it!
Oh I will! I’m so excited!
It’s full on fall here in Nova Scotia! The leaves are just starting to turn colour, it’s cold at night and warmer throughout the day, leaves are falling from trees and it’s apple picking season!
Have fun at the blogging class and it looks like you’ve got a great set of workouts this week!
I’m so jealous of the changing season! I miss the leaves here in CO!
Cookies and pizza? Sign me up!!
It was perfect 🙂
Fall is just arriving in Illinois! We’ve had some extended summer but our days are finally cooling off a little and the trees are starting to change.
Good luck as you move towards your taper!
The one thing I MAJORLY miss about living in IL is the changing leaves. It’s so beautiful!
Oooo blogging class?? And 13 miles on Saturday! You got it!
I’m definitely getting excited for fall! A lot of leaves are changing colors in my town and I love it!
I miss the changing leaves SO much. The only thing I dislike about CO — it’s brown and green. And white for snow. That’s really about it.
We’ve been having a great fall in DC after a scorching summer, and seeing some leaves starting to change along my run after work tonight really made it feel like fall!
Also, pizza, cookies and football sounds like a perfect night!!
It was pretty perfect! 🙂
It is definitely fall around here. Oregon tends to have pretty interesting weather. Almost 3 weeks ago we had 101 degree weather. Two weeks later it was 50degrees outside. Then last week it started with the SUPER HEAVY rain, the wind, and now I can feel the bite of cold in the air. We have beautiful falls and I can’t wait to take walks amongst our beautiful trees once they change color a bit more. Oregon is a pretty great place!
