Friday Round Up September 27

It’s that time again 🙂  Time for my round up and Friday Favorites of the Week!

Favorite Run

I’d have to say My Treadmill 10k to be honest

I really wanted it to be outdoors — but the Colorado heat wasn’t on my side that day.  Either way, it felt very easy in comparison to other runs lately and I ended feeling very strong.  Always an awesome feeling 🙂

Favorite Treat

My surprise find of the week:  Starburst Candy Corn!  Hello Halloween candy season!! My favorite time of year 🙂

Favorite Eat

My favorite eats of the week were probably our Double Date night at La Loma , but our Mexican night at home put up a GOOD fight.

Favorite Moment

My parents shared some exciting news with me this week — and that is probably the moment that stands out most for me.  Unfortunately, I have to be vague about it for the time being — but everyone send positive and happy vibes their way for me, OK? 🙂

And of course:  I wouldn’t leave you all without some highlights from the week of eats.

Pretty spectacular eats if I do say so myself 🙂  Anyone drooling yet?

And finally — Five Friday Favorites

  • Apples! –  I am LOVING everything apple with the new apple season 🙂
  • Being Married — I have a pretty stellar husband 🙂
  • The Blog — I’ve had some great people reach out to me via the blog this week — and just feel lucky to have started this little blog 🙂
  • Hot coffee — the cool mornings have made my morning cup of joe that much more enjoyable
  • Red wine — The cool weather has also brought with it my love for a glass of red wine.  So relaxing.

Question of the Afternoon:  One word highlight or favorite from this week 🙂

Joy.

Workout Round Up September 27

Oh happy rest Friday 🙂

I woke up this morning feeling really well rested and excited for the weekend.  Since Wednesday, I’ve been able to sleep in until 730, which is an hour and a half more than normal.  Let me tell you, three days of extra sleep have made this lady one-happy-girl :).

strong-woman

italics are still planned workouts for tomorrow and Sunday.

Since today is my rest day, and I know I tend to get restless on those days (is there a pun there?)  I have made a fun game for myself.  Every hour, as close to the hour as I can make it around clients, I am going to do

  • 25 jumping jacks
  • 1 minute plank

It’s nothing much, but it’s a fun way to get out my build up energy on a rest day 🙂

Quote for the day:

images (1)

I may not be there yet, but I’m closer than I was yesterday.

I LOVE this quote, specifically with my running and healthy  journey in general.  I have written about it before, but I am someone who has constantly compared myself to others with running.  Whether it be speed or distance.  This quote is a great reminder to me that I am on my OWN journey.  While I may never be the fastest runner or maybe I’ll never run an ultra — everyday that I lace up my shoes, I’m a stronger runner than I was the previous day.  And that’s pretty cool 🙂

Question of the Day:  What have you guys thought of the quotes this week?

Any journey that you’re on right now that feels like a daily struggle?
