Cake, Yoga and Pizza

Any night that includes those three things is quite alright in my book 🙂

Hello replacement wedding cake.  Who doesn’t need 3 cakes post wedding?

Full cake story to come

A little 75 minute vinyasa yoga with the hubby to end my Monday.

And of course, to come home from a relaxing yoga class to nothing but a homemade pizza, also done by the spectacular hubby.

Thank you so much on all your support from my post this afternoon.  I appreciate any advice, experience, support, or thoughts you all friends have on the subject 🙂

Have a great evening all!

Question of the Day:  What’s your favorite of the three?  Cake? Yoga? PIzza?

Tough one, dear lord….but I think I’d have to say cake if I’m being honest.

Inspiration, Direction, and the NEXT big thing.

Do you ever feel like you’ve been on the go for so long. . . that when you have a second to sit and process, you feel a little lost?

That is exactly where I find myself, right now.

In 2008, I graduated from Undergrad and jumped straight into my Graduate program at Saint Louis University

Love these girls. . . still miss you!!

I met Zach during my time at SLU and knew that right when when I graduated, I’d be moving to Chicago to be with him.

About 6 months after I moved to Chicago, we thought that even living in different apartments was for the birds, and decided that once we were finished with our current leases we would move in together.  Enter house hunting, and the anxiety of living with a boy!

Nearly a year into our lease, Zach popped the question and we were engaged 🙂

And subsequently, decided that now was the time to make the biggest move of our lives: Denver.

Thankfully, the transition to Denver was fairly easy thanks to us both having jobs and amazing families.

But of course, wedding planning moved into full force quickly once we were settled.

So you see . . . my life has been one-thing-to-the-next for really my entire adult life.

I tell you this whole long story because for as long as I can remember, I’ve been working towards or planning for something. . . the next big thing.  But now, for the first time in my adult life, I don’t have that next big thing.

Part of me is living in the moment, and basking in the quiet.  I need for nothing right now.  I am happier than I have ever been, and that is pretty amazing.

But another part of me wants that next big thing.

I just have no idea what that next big thing may be. . .

So — I’m currently searching for inspiration.

What am I looking for?

A new “thing” that provides growth and self-improvement

Something that I can do to become a better person.  For myself.  For my husband.  For everyone.

Is it through my job? Career?

Through the blog?  I am inspired by my blog, readers, other blogs, and the community EVERYDAY.  If only I could make my blog, writing, and my job one in the same 🙂

Through my family and friends?  Lord knows I’ve got amazing people in both.

I have no idea — but I’m ready for whatever it is when I find it.

Question of the Day:  Anyone else been in a spot like this? Am I totally crazy?

If you HAVE been in a similar spot — what’d you do?

Workout Plan for the Week and Professional Wedding Photos!

Well smack back to reality.

I woke up with Zach mentioning:  It’s your first full week at work as a wife!

Bumma — I think this is a milestone I would be happy to pass up, ;), but that’s OK.  It had to happen sometime.

If you saw my post from last night, you know it was a quiet evening spent primarily inside playing with Gus, watching football, eating open face sandwiches, and going to bed early.

Unfortunately the rain hasn’t completely let up, and we’re still stuck with the dark clouds and mist this morning in Denver.  Let me tell you how fun that made getting up this morning!

BUT — I wanted to start out the week on a good foot, so I got up, took my vitamins, and hit the gym for a very easy short bike ride.

Workout for the Morning: 30 minutes easy stationary ride.

Picture 012

Zach and I are planning a 2/3 Vinyasa class at root tonight, which is just what this tired body needs, but I still wanted to squeeze in something this morning to wake myself and my body up.

And in the theme of getting back in the swing of things:

Workout Plan for the Week September 16, 2013

  • Monday – 10 miles stationary bike + 75 minute yoga class
  • Tuesday – 4 -5 miles treadmill/outside weather depending
  • Wednesday – Strength training
  • Thursday 4-5 miles treadmill/outside EASY weather depending
  • Friday – rest day/2 miles treadmill/yoga
  • Saturday – LONG run
  • Sunday – recovery

It’s kind of nice to have a normal workout routine again this week.  I definitely was not lazy on my workouts last week, but there is something about structure that I just LOVE :).

Professional Wedding Photos!

Exciting news!  Yesterday our wedding photos were officially posted online!  Unfortunately, we haven’t been given a disc or direct access to them yet, so I can’t post any, but I CAN give you all access to the website so you can check them all out at your will 🙂

  • Go to alivestudios.com
  • Click weddings
  • Click online proofing on the left side
  • Scroll down to Ashley and Zachary
  • Enter “ashley” in the event code prompt to the right
  • you will be prompted to add an email address, but the photographers won’t do anything with your email.  It’s to keep track of favorites.

There are SO many amazing photos, I can’t wait to post them on here for you all 🙂

Alright . . . so now it’s time to get to work and back to reality.

Question of the Day:  If you look at the pics, which one is your favorite?
