Happy Saturday All 🙂
Let me tell you, there really is nothing like a weekend after a vacation, haha.
I am pretty stoked about my treadmill PDR this morning, even though it started out like this …
but it ended well and that’s all that matters :). Before I get to the run, let’s get to business. . .
Our weekend started out with a nice date night at El Senor Sol
While the food was delicious, I think the 1.5 margaritas and beyond greasy yummy quesadilla did NOT sit well in my stomach.
By the time we were home from dinner, I could tell I was going to need to lay low. So, we stayed in and watched Anchorman. Hysterical.
We were in bed by 10 PM — and I’m not even ashamed to admit that.
Unfortunately, I still wasn’t feeling quite awesome when I woke up this morning. . .
I wasn’t feeling sick, just didn’t quite pick the best fuel possible for a long run you could say.
I did my normal routine of Larabar and coffee (coconut creme pie flavor today, AWESOME), and after about 15 minutes of complaining, headed down to the treadmill.
This is how I was feeling about my morning on the dreaded machine. BUT — once I got started, it wasn’t awful and my legs actually really responded.
I kept the pace reasonable, and ran until the treadmill kicked me off at 99 minutes.
Workout for the Day: 10.37 treadmill miles
I squeezed in a bit of speed work in there (including one mile at 7.0) just to break up the time, but basically it was me, my ipod, and Food Network for the 99 minutes.
I ran in the dark for awhile — well until somebody else turned the light on. It was actually pretty nice. Let’s just say I am not a fan of fluorescent lights.
I came upstairs and automatically sat down, haha.
Honestly, am I the most obnoxious runner ever with my clothes? I’m amazed Zach goes out with me sometimes.
Zach was on his way out the door to the farmer’s market, so I jumped along for the ride.
He must really love me, because he didn’t even make me shower before we went out in public. Yup — I believe the line he used was “well, I guess I am stuck with you now, huh?”
That’s love 🙂
Even though we were a little late today, the market still had lots of good produce. I think the weather has just kept people in doors.
We got lots of good stuff, including a beautiful lemon bar that is CALLING MY NAME after a quick shower 🙂
I watched 3 southern shows of food network, really all I wanted was butter. haha
Zach is getting ready to head out for a ride, and I am ready to jump in the shower and relax for awhile this afternoon. We do have plans a bit later to go watch some college football and hang out with friends, but until then I plan to sit very still :).
Question of the day: What’s your long run this week?
Haha you’re such a cutie patootie! And damn gurl, I could never go that long on the mill! Amazing job! Lol 1.5 margaritas in tiny little you! I’m impressed!
Your >10 miles puts my 2.25 to shame. By the time I’m done training I’ll be up to 4.5 miles, which I think I’ll be pretty happy about, but if I had the motivation to go that far, I would definitely try to push myself to half-marathons. 5Ks are good for me though! Sounds like a successful Saturday!
Fluorescent lights are the devil. Those things are built to mess with your eyes and brain. There’s research saying that certain fluorescent hues are better or worse, like those with some blue tinting are less likely to give us headaches, etc.
Couldn’t agree more!
Nice work on the treadmill! And I like the idea of running in a darker room (much more relaxing). Sadly the gym doesn’t have that option. Though they do turn off the lights for Zumba and I love that. And your running clothes… AWESOME! I’m all for the brighter the better and throw in some crazy patterns as well. I bought these super awesome running tights that I love, but my friends were like, “Really?” I’ll have to post a picture of them sometimes.
Please do post pictures! I love crazy running clothes 🙂
99 minutes?!? Wow! When I ran on the tread, I’d do 20 – 30 min. every other day and danced for 20 min. on the days I didn’t tread with 2 days off in between. I like your idea of exercising in low lighting, I never thought of doing that! Those lemon bars looked tasty…it makes me want one – thanks A LOT lol. Anyways, good post. 😉
That sounds like a great routine!
Wow great run!!!!! Coconut cream is definitely my fave Larabar too!
Thanks! I had never had it before but I definitely will again!
I found out the hard way that my treadmill shuts off at 99 minutes. Crashed into the front. Fun times.
My long run this week was 8 miles, which isn’t really a long run.
Your running clothes are cool! 🙂
And being married certainly has some perks.
Oh no!!! hahaha — that is something that would SO happen to me!
I am loving being married so far 🙂 It’s pretty much the best!
