Thank You . . . Cheers and Dinner

Thank you all so much for all the love and support you’ve shown the past few days 🙂 With all these wedding heavy posts lately, everyone has been sharing their love and excitement for Zach and I and it really means a lot to me.

This is such a unique and special time in our lives and I’m so thankful that I will have this new blog to look back on during this time.  This last month has been a bit hectic and crazy, but I wouldn’t have changed a second.  So thank you to  everyone for being a part of it! 🙂

GROUP HUG!

When I first looked up group hug, this is what I found.

group hug

ummmm…. not so much what I had in mind.

Moving on 🙂

As always, Thursdays are my late nights at work, so my go-to plans are to get food in my belly ASAP and relax.  Normally with bad TV.

Tonight I came home to a homemade salad and steak ready to go on the grill prepared by the boy.

Salad included

  • fresh greens (lots of kale tonight)
  • fresh basil
  • broccoli
  • garden tomatoes
  • a few grapes
  • a new-to-me Sante Fe Blend dressing

Does anybody else LOVE salads the way I do?  I hope you all don’t mind that at least half of the meals I post on here include some kind of salad or side salad.  I love the mix of different flavors and ingredients, what can I say 🙂 Especially now that we have our own little garden that or salad stars can come from!

And now, Zach and I are off to enjoy the evening with the last part of the gift his work group sent us this morning.

Something about champagne always makes me feel happy.  We never have it, but after a day like today, is there a better way to top it off than a nice cheers of bubbly?

Question of the Day/Night:  Is there any meal/food you don’t get sick of?

For my married friends, what was your favorite memory pre-wedding?  And for my single friends, what are you most looking forward to in your big day?

It’s Official! We’re Married (well…kind of)

Did I get you with that title? 🙂

Ok. . . where’d I leave off this morning  . . .

Picture 009

After Zach and I fueled up with some delicious homemade juice, we hit the road on a very important mission.

To the Denver Court House for our marriage license!

Picture 011

We hopped on the Free 16th Street Mall ride to keep from struggling with downtown AM traffic and parking.

Picture 013

Us and about half of the neighborhood!

This was a really good idea on Zach’s part.  The walk to the bus is about 5-10 minutes, 15 minutes in transit, then another 10 minutes walking once you get off.  Not too bad, and no traffic head ache!

Picture 014

The Cap Hill neighborhood of Denver is one of our favorites, but this was the first time either of us had been to any of the actual government buildings.

Once we figured out exactly where we needed to be, it was easy peasy!

Well except the security line. . .

First, we didn’t put our stuff on the conveyor belt correctly.

Then Zach’s coffee cup spilt ON the conveyor belt

Then Zach set off the alarm multiple times trying to get through thanks to his phone and hidden pocket gems.

Hysterical.  We never have problems getting through TSA, but we made a mess of a mini security line today!  I guess we were anxious 🙂

Once we got past all that silliness, it was straight through to the County Clerk.

There were no other people in the waiting area when we got there, so we MUST have picked a good time to go.  Our number was called in less than 3 minutes, which is probably good because I had a SERIOUS case of the giggles.

Once we were called back, we gave Lisa, the nice woman who helped us, our passports and social security cards, then got to work.  She asked us both about

  • Full names
  • Place of birth
  • Current address/phone number
  • Parents full names
  • Parents place of birth

Both Zach and I stumbled on some of these questions, but it wasn’t an issue at all.

Just like that, 30 dollars later, we had paperwork in our hands.

We then held up our right hands, were asked to swear that everything was accurate and that our intentions were to marry, then literally said “I Do” and it was done 🙂

Kind of weird to say I do!  Felt VERY official!

Picture 020

We now have 35 days to make this party the real deal.  It just needs signed by our ordained official (Zach’s brother and best man), witnesses, and ourselves and we’re done!  Then it’s sent back in to the Courts, it gets recorded, and we get to live happily ever after!

Of course. . . we hadn’t even gotten to the train to head home yet and Zach decorated our license.

Picture 021

A little spilled coffee doesn’t make it un-official, right?

We are two peas in a pod 🙂

We got home really quickly and decided that we should take a second to celebrate the occasion.

Picture 024

We love Masterpiece!  It’s our go-to place for fresh, yummie sammies. I’ll have to do a full review the next time we go, it’s amazing.  It’s right at Central and 16th, so be sure to check it out if you’re in the neighborhood!

A nice brunch to relax and chat about the exciting morning 🙂

Picture 028

Turkey, swiss cheese and a fried egg on an english muffin for me.  It was delicious and HUGE.  I had to share about 1/4 with Zach.

It was the perfect way to cap off a really happy and exciting morning.

Picture 026

I look constipated or something with that smile. . . ?

Picture 022

I don’t even KNOW what he looks like 😉

Obviously, we couldn’t be happier 😉

Busy Morning!

Phew!  It’s only a little after 11 and I feel like I’ve had a whole day behind me!

Picture 022

We’ll get to the fun stuff a little later. . . business first 🙂

I CRASHED after I finished my evening post last night.  Zach said one second we were laying watching TV on the couch, then the next second he looked back and I was dead to the world.  I guess I needed some rest!

I crawled out of bed this morning and did a nice and easy recovery run on the treadmill.

Workout For the Day

  • 4.20 miles
  • 5 minutes @ 6.1
  • 5 minutes @ 6.2
  • Steady run at 6.3, with one minute at 8 every 5 minutes until 4 miles
  • Include walk it out @ 8% @ 3.7 until 40 minutes.

This morning was one of those that I was very thankful I had you all around to hold me accountable and get out of bed.  I knew I had a busy morning ahead and was going to want to relax by the time I got off from work late tonight.

When I got upstairs from my run there were a few surprises for us from Zach’s amazing work group

Picture 001

How beautiful and thoughtful is that?

Picture 002

Zach is a project manager, and this little flow chart was a mock to his projects, but focused on marriage lessons.

I laughed for a good 5 minutes going through these.  My favorite one

No matter how many times you unload and reload the dishwasher, your spouse will still think their way is the right way.

It’s like the team KNOWS that is our thing.  Zach seriously HATES the way I load the dishwasher (I’m a little careless) and I constantly hear him in the mornings moving things around before he thinks I’m awake.  Hysterical 🙂

Along with those gifts they sent us a VERY generous Macy’s gift card that is already burning a hole in our pockets!

After the fun of the workout and present opening, Zach and I had big plans for the morning :).

But first . . . Zach wanted to me to share with him the joy of our new juicer for the first time.

Picture 003

2 huge carrots, baby carrots, a pear, apple, left over salad, 2 beats. . .

Look at it go!

Picture 008

It was surprisingly good!  VERY fresh and flavorful.  The flavors of the carrot and beats were the most prominent.

And just like that, we were fueled and ready for our morning at the COURT HOUSE! 🙂

Marriage license update to come next 🙂
