A to Z survey

So — since I’m still new to blogging, I figured I do one of the surveys I’ve seen floating around everywhere to help you all get to know me a little better :).

Since Zach and I basically ARE A-Z (Ashley-Zach, HA)…I knew the A to Z survey was the one!

Probably Friday or Saturday (afternoon). I love the knowing I have the weekend ahead on Friday, but there is nothing like the feeling of completing a long run Saturday morning and knowing I can take it easy the rest of the weekend!

Clothing: Either my American Eagle Skinny Jeans or LuLulemon yoga pants

Workout: Headbands! BIC Bands for sure!

M. Marriage date?

September 7, 2013! AHH

N. Number of brothers/sisters?

Only child! My parents were so lucky…I guess they knew they couldn’t do any better once they had me 😉

O. Oranges or Apples?

Ohhh….toughy.  Probably a good honeycrisp apple. Yum.

P. Phobias?

Cheesy as it is, the thing I really fear the most is losing the people I love…the whole being alone thing, not good for me 🙂

Q. Quotes?

My favorite running quote: “There will be a day I’m not able to run.  Today is not that day.”

R. Reasons to smile?

Oh I have so many of those!

  • I’m getting married in less than a month to the greatest guy
  • engagement
  • I have an amazing family back home in STL
  •  family
  • I have a great furry family
  • I have great friends who support me no matter how crazy I am!
  • zoeoldschool
  • The fact that I can run and be active in general.  I’m thankful for that everyday.

T. Tag 5 People.

I’ll pass on this one, but please anyone else to do the survey! It’s fun and totally brings me back to the days when we used to do these via facebook or chain letters 🙂

U. Unknown fact about me?

I’m a bit anal…(ok maybe some people know this about me ;).  The best example: going out to dinner.  If we don’t have reservations (and lets be honest, most places we go don’t require/have reservations) I’m all anxious and knotted up inside, until we sit down in our seats.  While we’re walking/driving, or DEFINITELY if there is a wait, I’ll be anxious the entire time, until we get our seats.  Sad, but true.  I’m working on it 😉

V. Vegetable?

Oh I love me some veggies, and haven’t met many I don’t like.  Gimme a farmers market and I’m a happy lady!

W. Worst habit?

Refer to uknown fact about me :).  I’m uptight, anxious.  Sometimes I just need to relax and go with the flow…thankfully I have a fiance who has really helped me with that.

X. X-Ray or ultrasound?

Odd — but ultrasound I guess. I hate going through those darn x-rays at the airport every time…

Y. Your favorite food?

Chocolate.

Low-Calorie-Ways-Satisfy-Chocolate-Craving

sad — I’d probably just end up nakkie if I wore it.

Z. Zodiac sign?

Taurus — but don’t know much about horoscopes to know if I have traits of a Taurus.

And there ya go! 🙂

Tonight: I think it’s going to be a laid back night around the household.   Family, movies, and mexican food night 🙂

Weekly Food and Workout Round Up August 9, 2013

Good Morning and HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE 🙂

Since Friday’s are generally my rest days, and the lead in to the weekend, I figured I could use Friday mornings as my time to recap the highlights, and lowlights, of my food and work outs for the week.

Since food is my favorite, let’s start with that.

Food Highlights

Meals

Homemade Pizza, and last nights tomato and moz salad. The warm, flavorful pizza went perfectly with the fresh, cool salad!

The entire meal from last Friday’s date night

DSCN0026DSC_0649

Open face sammies, toast, or really anything that came from that amazing farmer’s market bread.

Chicken quesadilla from the Food Truck at Denver Brew Co. Probably the best I’ve ever had.

My girls night dinner!  Wine, snacks, and pulled pork.  Y-U-M-M-O.

And a surprisingly fresh salad from Sprouts, our local grocery store.

Favorite Snacks

DSCN0034

Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies.  They were our treat through the week and they were AMAZING

DSCN0022

My first shot at Peanut Butter Granola .  Unfortunately I’m finishing it off as we speak.

DSCN0023

The Garretts popcorn from our lovely Chicago Friends.

DSCN0051

The cake from Ladies Night…doesn’t look good, but my god that Key Lime was to die for.

LowLights

Picture 014

I got this scone yesterday as a quick breakfast after our final walk through, and honestly didn’t even eat a quarter of it.  It’s from Starbucks, and there were honestly probably 4 blueberries in the whole thing.  Total Disappointment.

They were out of my favorite Wallaby granola this morning, so I had to go back to my yoplait, sugar bomb unfortunately.  Really doesn’t taste bad, just does nothing for my hunger.

I’m hungry just looking at all that. YUM.

Workouts for the Week

I was able to stay pretty darn true to my workouts for the week this week, as planned, which always makes me feel good 🙂

  • Monday’s outdoor run – 5.7 miles
  • Tuesday’s strength day
  • Wednesday’s Speed treadmill run – 4.76 miles
  • Thursday’s 60 minute stationary bike ride (20 miles)

Pretty good!  Today is my rest day, and then tomorrow I have a 90 minute run planned.  As always, I’m a bit anxious for it, but hopeful that I can push through 🙂  I had some strong work outs this week, so I’m happy about that!

Question of the Day:  How were your workouts this week?  Any long run planned this weekend?
