The rest of our afternoon was spent with Zach working and me relaxing :).
This included my favorite seated hatha yoga class by David Procsyhyn
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xK7iPuDbf-M).
It’s perfect for slowly and gently stretching out tight muscles, without even having to get off your bum! 🙂
After a couple hours of yoga, work and relaxing, Zach and I decided to head to our favorite little neighborhood spot, Denver Brew Co .
After a couple, wonderful beers and delicious appetizer, we headed home to get start on
Pizza Night!
Pizza night is seriously a favorite in the Jara/Abbett household. We do our pizzas a little different (think no pizza sauce, lots of garlic, veggies, herbs and cheese), but let me tell you they are to die for. Tonights had our normal base, and was heavy on the beats that we picked up from the farmers market.
Bacon and Beat Pizza
Ingredients
Prepared pizza dough (uncooked)
2-3 pieces of bacon
2 anaheim peppers (from our garden)
3 beats (one red, one candy, one yellow)
The lettuce tops of said beats
3 cloves of garlic
1 cup of cheese.
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
While the oven is preheating, chop the beats up small and begin steaming them on the stove top (about 15 minutes total). For the last 2 minutes of steaming of beats, add in the the lettuce tops to wilt.
Begin to roll out the dough evenly on a griddle/pan, to about hand tossed/thin thickness (make sure the dough has had about an hour or so out of the fridge to set and rise).
Once the dough is to desired thickness, precook for 5 minutes, or until dough starts to bubble. During this time, dice up the pepper and garlic.
Once the dough has precooked, pull it out of the oven and begin putting all of the veggies directly on top.
Add cheese on top of veggies
And cook for 20 minutes at 350.
Enjoyed, x2.
Delish!! I hope you enjoy pizza night as much as we do in our household.
The rest of the evening…
We are about an hour into The Master…and let me tell you. We still have NO idea what is going on in the story. Thoroughly confused. Oh well….maybe This is 40 will be better?
Question of the Night: What’s your family’s favorite home cooked meal?
Snap! Is pizza night here, too 🙂 Fam is making them as I type. Those beets look so pretty – I bet they are full of flavour,
