Snooze Me!

Happy Wednesday everyone! 🙂  We’re on the downward slope of the work week, and that can’t be a bad thing, right?

Weeks without Monday’s tend to go by a bit faster, ehh?

Last Night:  So I actually made it through an entire movie ON MY OWN last night!  I watched Pitch Perfect, without much background or knowledge about what I was getting into except that Anna Kendrick was in it and I absolutely adore her (hello girl crush!).

While I was a bit doubtful as it started, I actually ended up really liking the movie.  The singing was fantastic, and I recognized a lot of the songs (think anywhere from 80’s, 90’s, to current pop hits).   The story line, while predictable, was cute and well executed.  For musicals, I have to really get into the music to stick with it, especially when I’m completely aware that I’m going to be watching a musical, and Pitch Perfect succeeded.

Cute and worth watching :).

I made it to bed around 1030 last night after enjoying the movie and dessert.

This morning, I had my alarm set for 550 AM in hopes that it would leave me plenty of time to get my run in as well as take care of the furballs.

But, once 550, rolled around, all I had on my mind was

This has been happening to me quite a bit lately — I have grand intentions of a great AM/pre work workout, then the morning rolls around and all I do is snooze through the hour I have set aside for sweating. Whomp — I will say I’ve still been good about squeezing a work out in after work when this happens, but I really do want to get back into the habit of AM work outs.  It leaves my afternoons free and that way I don’t have to worry about knowing I still have a work out after a long day.

SO — while I did hit that beloved snooze button for 10 minutes this morning, eventually I crawled myself out of bed (I literally had my clothes and shoes on the floor for easy and quick access) and made it to the treadmill for some speed work.

Workout today looked like:

10 minutes steady run (6.2-6.4)

20 minutes of Intervals:  1 minute 7.5-8.4 followed by 2 minutes at 6.4-6.5

10 minute steady run (6.2-6.5)

5 minutes incline walking 3.5-3.8 for cool down.

While I felt half asleep and like I had legs of lead the entire run, I finished strong and happy that I got this out of the way.

Total: 4.71 miles

Thanks to my snoozing, I thought I was going to be a little pressed for time so I hurried to get Gusman outside for his morning walk.  It wasn’t quite as chilly as yesterday morning, but still sunny and beautiful.

I then hurried through my shower and getting ready routine to make sure that I was in the office before 830, and I succeeded with even a few minutes to spare :).  Look at me!

Now — I need to get to work so I can make it through this day!  I have a hair appointment scheduled for 515 this afternoon, so I gotta make sure I’m out the door on time!  I must admit, I’m a little anxious to get my hair cut.  I’ve been growing it out for the wedding, and literally haven’t had it cut since December.  A few weekends ago I noticed, after running my fingers through my wet hair post shower, that I had split ends literally almost an inch coming out in my hands.  YIKES.  I’ve been trying to get in since, and am just happy I could get squeezed in.  I’ll take some pictures to show you guys the results!

1.  Are you a snoozer?  How do I get out of this habit?

2. I have NO idea what I want to for dinner and have plans to run to the store at lunch hoping to find inspiration for a one person meal.  Any ideas?
