After a 3.25 hour delay, we took off from Indiana and left for our route to Denver.
I did finish my book, Where We Belong, and plan a review in the coming days.
I also started a new book, “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein, all while I enjoyed my air port reinforcements :).
Within 15-20 minutes I was out on the plane. I didn’t sleep well all weekend, and I think it had finally just caught up to me. I must say, my friends on the plane were quite impressed with my ability to just crash. What can I say, it’s a skill.
Once I woke up, I started working on the reinforcements some more, and continued reading up until landing.
Once we got back to DIA, it was smooth sailing and before I knew it I was on my way to pic up our Gusman.
I can honestly say I’ve never seen him so excited in my life. He whined, cried and jumped around the car the entire time we were on our way home. Adorable. This isn’t the first time he’s had to stay at the VCA, but the previous time he was still quite sick, so didn’t have the energy he did today. Feels great to be greeted by lots of his puppy love 🙂
Once we got home, I attended to my cinderella duties, including: making his grub (he is on a pork and rice diet), take care of my other Lovely, August, laundry, unpack, water the plants, etc.
By about 815, I was finally ready to sit down to a light dinner and bad TV (hello Bachelorette finale).
Everyone seems to be happy to be home, as I sit with my dinner, Gus sits with his peanut butter treat, and August returns to her predator nature.
Feels good to be home :).
